Strategy Summary
Our strategy to 2030
The RSPCA has been changing animals' lives for two hundred years. The challenges facing animals have changed and we have to adapt to rise to those challenges. Our new strategy sets out our purpose, vision and ambitions for the next five years.

- We are expert
- We act with integrity
Our Beliefs

- Animals enrich and improve our lives
- All of us can and should help to make animals’ lives better
Our nine ambitions
We have also updated our ambitions to reflect our progress and to ensure they are bold statements of intent which reflect the societal change we want to see.
- 1 End animal abuse, cruelty and neglect in England and Wales.
- 2 End harmful selling and breeding of pets in England and Wales.
- 3 Champion the global replacement of animal experiments with humane, non-animal methods.
- 4 Secure international agreements to prioritise animal welfare, including a UN convention.
- 5 Secure effective legal protection for all wildlife in England and Wales through robust new wildlife legislation.
- 6 Achieve statutory powers for RSPCA inspectors in England and Wales.
- 7 Build a millions-strong movement to create a better world for every kind of animal.
- 8 Call for a significant reduction in meat, dairy and egg consumption by 2050.
- 9 End lower welfare farming through by bringing more farms under the RSPCA Assured scheme and continually driving up welfare standards.
Encourage people to ‘eat less, eat better'
Our five priorities
We have also updated our ambitions to reflect our progress and to ensure they are bold statements of intent which reflect the societal change we want to see.
Impact
Our new priority to highlight our focus on measuring our achievements, on access to data and insight, and on making evidence-based decisions. This will help people better understand the work we do and allow us to demonstrate our effectiveness.
Rescue and Care
We are committed to delivering leading and consistent welfare standards to every animal. We are reprioritising our frontline rescue work on cruelty and neglect and empowering people, communities and organisations so we can collectively reach more animals.
Advocacy and Prevention
Our prevention and education work runs through everything we do. We know we can make a bigger impact for more animals by changing attitudes, laws and behaviours through advocacy and prevention.
Engagement
Replacing Support as a priority, to reflect our relationships and partnerships are reciprocal and lasting. We will both offer our expertise to others and learn from them.
Organisational Effectiveness
Our core foundation reflects our progress and continued commitment to becoming a great place to work and an inclusive, sustainable organisation, powered by digital.
