Impact

Understanding our impact is essential to delivering our strategy and driving societal change that makes a difference to the lives of animals.

Fulfilling our purpose to inspire everyone to create a better word for every animal is at the centre of our goal to be more impact-driven. By prioritising impactful delivery, we will ensure that our actions translate into meaningful outcomes for animals. We aim to demonstrate to our supporters that their valued donations are making a positive difference to the lives of animals, emphasising the importance of each contribution towards our purpose.

We are committed to enhancing our capability to better measure and demonstrate our impact. Key to this is the development of our impact and decision-making frameworks, which will empower our team to make informed decisions using the latest data. This includes making the best use of generous donations to ensure our resources are utilised efficiently and effectively to improve animal welfare.

We have already begun the critical process of harnessing data and insight to understand our impact and drive improvements for animal welfare. This work will continue through 2025.

The actions we will take

Data and Insight

We will advance our organisation's data and insight capabilities, review our existing landscape and maturity, and take considered steps to move forward, starting with design and discovery in 2025.

Environment Plan

In 2025 we will implement our Environment Plan, focusing on climate change and biodiversity. We will address our activities, supply chain, and areas where we can amplify our positive impact, in collaboration with partners, communities and supporters.

Nature ambition

Our goal is to reduce adverse effects and enhance positive contributions to the environment by managing our supply chain's impact, supporting ecosystems and working collaboratively with partners to extend our reach and foster meaningful environmental change.

Climate ambition

We will mitigate our climate change contribution and strengthen resilience through a science-aligned net zero greenhouse gas emissions transition plan (2023–2050), addressing climate risks and working with stakeholders to reduce impacts beyond our direct emissions.

Wild animal welfare

In 2025 we will continue to build foundations for the development of a new strategy for wild animal welfare. We are committed to the welfare of wildlife, which includes exotic animals kept as pets, and want to be better able to articulate our vision for these animals. This will include the role we should play through advocacy, prevention, frontline operations and working in partnership with others, so we utilise our expertise and skills where we can make the most difference.
