Organisational Effectiveness

We will make the RSPCA a great place to work, supporting our people through the People and Culture Plan and focusing on wellbeing, professional growth and collaboration.

We will inspire people to create a better world for every animal and, following our successful rebrand in 2024, we will continue to equip our frontline teams, branches and centres with our new uniform, unifying our organisation and network.

The actions we will take

Continue building an inclusive and welcoming workplace

Our People and Culture Plan is built on five ‘People Priorities’.

  1. Building a great culture
  2. Building high performance and potential
  3. Building inclusion and belonging
  4. Building a safe and healthy place to work
  5. Building effective reward and recognition

By evolving this work in 2025 we are fostering an inclusive, open and forward-thinking culture, supporting our people to feel empowered, and encouraging collaboration and trust. Our People Plan prioritises both the skills we need at every level of the organisation and how we can develop our amazing talent, so that the RSPCA becomes a sustainable, adaptable and high-performing organisation that thrives in an ever-changing landscape.

Going forward, we’re continuing to prioritise wellbeing with the launch of our Wellbeing Policy and by embedding our Wellbeing Champions across the RSPCA to provide practical support and champion mental health initiatives.

Ways of working

We will review our working practices, focusing on our digital capabilities, digital experience and IT, to become a more agile organisation and build best practices. This is to ensure that we can deliver at pace and keep up with the ever-changing technological landscape.

The RSPCA intranet

The RSPCA intranet, known as The Den, is designed as an inclusive, one-stop shop for all internal information, and will act as our core communications hub for all internal staff. The Den will enable more efficient, collaborative working and reinforce a strong sense of culture and community for our people. This will ensure that current and relevant information is readily available to our people, to support them in their roles and help them respond at pace when managing animal welfare issues.
